Would you want to understand the legal issues on FLOSS? We give you some hints about how to manage licenses on FLOSS.

The map of legal issues that categorizes the legal issues arising from FLOSS is the organizational basis for presenting information to users of the portal. The map appears as a tree diagram with several nodes (categories and sub categories). At the leaves, several questions are displayed (questions that are of interest to the users). Answers to these questions will be given and illustrated by legal documents, analysis, publications, opinions... Although this may look like the ubiquitous FAQ format (presenting information through a list of Frequently Asked Questions and their answers), what we propose is quite different. The editors will not answer the question themselves, they will summarize answers from other sources and there may be several answers per questions (with respect to different laws or corresponding to several opinions).

A preliminary version of this map is presented thereafter. It will be completed and refined over time.

Please note that the right part of the node addresses questions related to licenses in general whereas the left part of the node concerns questions which are not related to any licenses neither general nor specific. Please also note that questions related to specific licenses will also be added later.
